'Desperate Housewives' scared to cross Marc Cherry, says source

desperate-housewives-marc-cherry.jpgAfter the main women of "Desperate Housewives" made it clear that they're sticking behind their boss Marc Cherry amid Nicollette Sheridan's allegations that he attacked her and created a hostile environment on set, an inside source says they're not telling the whole story.

"Eva Longoria Parker, Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross are staying out of the rumor mill on this one and letting it play out for the most part," an insider tells FOX411.com. "They will not bite the hand that feeds them, and Marc is the man with all the power on set. He has absolute power with the story and the ladies will stand behind him."

The site's source says that Marc has said largely inappropriate things to the cast, including remarks about "their weight or something very personal about them that is awkward," but they let it slide.

According to the source, Sheridan was a model employee and actually quite shy, which is why it comes as a surprise to them that anyone would say Sheridan was unprofessional.

The source also corroborates Longoria Parker's and other reported statements that the incident in which Sheridan claims Cherry hit her occurred about two years ago and involved a scene that none of the other actresses were in. So, their joint statement would be correct when it states that they had "no first-hand knowledge of what Nicollette may or may not have experienced."

The insider goes on to paint Cherry as a powerful, yet insecure man, with a huge ego.

Do you believe the "Desperate Housewives" aren't telling the whole truth?
