'Desperate Housewives' drama: Nicollette Sheridan says Marc Cherry attacked her

Wisteria Lane has always had its fair share of drama, but what's going on off-screen may take the cake this time. TMZ has learned that Nicollette Sheridan, who portrayed Edie Britt on "Desperate Housewives" until the character was killed off in April 2009, has alleged that series creator Marc Cherry assaulted her.Sheridan is suing Cherry for assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination. She seeks over $20 million in damages. According to Sheridan, Cherry "forcefully" struck her head and face after she confronted him with a question about the script.
The alleged attack occurred on Sept. 24, 2008. Sheridan claims she immediately reported the incident to ABC, but the network didn't take action, and Cherry continued "behaving in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner toward the individuals who work on the show."
The suit alleges that Sheridan isn't the only one who complained. When co-star Teri Hatcher complained to the network about Cherry's behavior, he allegedly said, "I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies."
[UPDATED] ABC Studios issued a statement to Zap2it saying: "While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit."

WOW... Her injury took 1 year to manifest? I'm confused.
She is so old, nasty and total trash. Poor Marc he made her a start and now leather face is sueing him. Plus the show is much better now that this thing left, she at 50 thought she was hot like Madonna, but facts are while Madonna and Demi at 40 looks like teenagers, Nicholette, looks like an old washed up actress.
I believe her. I have seen first hand what pressure and power can do to people like an overworked director/writer. LOOK PEOPLE in Hollywood there is a lot of bad behavior and it is tolerated to protect the interest of the studio. If this Cherry dude did in fact do the things she alleged and she complained, most likely the studio would side with the money maker.
How do I know cause I have worked in a Hollywood studio as a low man assistant to know that I BELIEVE her.

Meow, how old are you? 12? He made her a start? Nicolette Sheridan was a star of Knots Landing years ago...Cherry may have revived her career, but he certainly didn't give her her start. He sounds like a big, creepy nerd.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with tort law and civil procedure, a plaintiff has a time period, known as the statute of limitations, to file a claim.
Filing of a claim during the end of the statute of limitations does not make the claim any less valid. It gives the plaintiff time to get their case together and collect evidence and witnesses.
Some of you need to brush up on your math. The attack allegedly took place in Sep. of 2008, which means it took a year *and a half* for her to make the complaint, not just "a year".
