Bret Michaels update: Condition 'critical but stable' after setback
"Celebrity Apprentice" and Poison fans will not be happy to learn that rocker Bret Michaels' condition has "suffered a setback" according to his his official Facebook page.Though reports released earlier Tuesday (April 27) said that Michaels' condition had been upgraded to stable, his doctors say that while Michaels is not in immediate danger, his overall condition has not improved, and is listed as "critical but stable."
A subarachnoid hemorrhage such as Michaels' is most commonly caused by the rupture of a cerebral aneurysm, but about 15% of subarachnoid hemorrhages such as Michaels' are spontaneous and without discernible cause. Michaels' doctors say that as the blood dissolves back into his system, his condition will gradually improve, but the recovery may be painful and may take "several weeks to months."
Donald Trump, Jr. appeared on "Larry King Live" on Monday to discuss Michaels' condition. "Bret is very likable guy, down to earth and a solid person," Trump says. He also noted that "out of all the people from 'Celebrity Apprentice,' I may have had the best kind of off-camera relationship with him over the three years."
