'Celebrity Apprentice's' Bret Michaels suffers brain hemmorhage, rushed to ICU [Updated]

UPDATE 8:37 p.m. ET: TMZ is reporting that Michaels' condition has stabilized. "Rock of Love" Season 2 winner Ambre Lake tells the site that Michaels is conscious. He'll continue to be closely monitored for the next 24 hours.

"Celebrity Apprentice" star and former Poison frontman Bret Michaels, who has been recovering from an emergency appendectomy, suffered a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage on Thursday night (April 22), according to People.

The bleeding at his brain stem was discovered after Michaels complained of a terrible headache. He is currently in critical condition. "After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation," says People's source.

After his April 12 appendectomy, Michaels transferred to a facility that specializes in post-surgical care of diabetic patients. His diabetes is well publicized, and he has donated all money raised during his "Celebrity Apprentice" stint to the American Diabetes Association. It is not yet known whether his brain hemorrhage is related to his diabetes, or to his recent surgery.
