Ben Roethlisberger won't face criminal charges for sexual assault allegation
The verdict is in and it looks like Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger won't face criminal charges after a sexual assault allegation from an incident on March 5.Georgia District Attorney Fred Bright announced the decision at approximately 2 p.m. ET Monday (April 12).
Roethlisberger's attorney, Ed Garland, had said that "the facts show that there was no criminal activity ... No sexual assault occurred."
[UPDATE: Regarding Monday's decision, Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney Fred Bright said, "The sexual allegation against Mr. Roethlisberger cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Therefore, there will be no arrest made, nor criminal prosecution of Mr. Roethlisberger for his actions here on March 5, 2010."]
