Valerie Bertinelli packed a scale for an Italian vacation?
Valerie Bertinelli packed something in her suitcase that most women would definitely not bring on a romantic Italian vacation. "Yes, I brought my Jenny Craig scale with me!" Bertinelli told People's Elizabeth Leonard. "I wanted to keep an eye on [my weight]. I said to myself, 'Eat, have fun, and move your body!'"
Even after eating whatever she wanted (including drinking red wine) in Rome, Florence, and Venice earlier this month, the star of TV Land's new sitcom "Hot in Cleveland," only put on 3.4 lbs.
While she didn't run in Italy to keep up her Boston marathon training, she did hoof it 85 miles during the 10-day trip.
Along with her scale, she brought (and wore) a Bodybugg device to track her daily steps.
"The smallest number of steps we took in a day was 11,000. We never caught a cab."
Bertinelli is set to run her first full marathon next month. And if she survives, she'll turn 50 a few days later on April 23.
You can do it, Valerie! Finish the marathon and turn 50.
