'Twilight's' Kristen Stewart 'not allowed to grope' Dakota Fanning

"Twilight: Eclipse" star Kristen Stewart shares a tender kiss with her friend Dakota Fanning in their new film, "The Runaways."

Kristen plays Joan Jett and Dakota plays her Runaways band mate, Cherie Currie. But Joan told the Dish Rag this week that if the love scene had been accurate, the movie would have needed a stricter rating than just an R.

Now we find out that the real reason for the chaste kiss.

"She was 15, and I wasn't allowed to grope her," Kristen, 19, told "Access Hollywood." "I'm actually not kidding, there are major restrictions that I don't remember [from] when I was younger."

Kristen said the kiss was "just something that happened in their lives."

"I don't want to give anything way. It's a really passionate, hardcore scene," she joked. "No, it's just a kiss. It's not really a big deal."

The movie, however, is a big deal. It's a powerful story of the first all-girl rock band in music history. And you're gonna love the fashions, makeup and hairstyles.  Did we mention the soundtrack?

The Ronettes and Shangri-Las will be interested to read that the Runaways were "the first all-girl rock band in the history of music." Nice research, Dishrag.

Why does everyone keep saying that "The Runaways" was the first all girl rock group -- that is complete bs. This was a novelty idea that really didn't produce great tracks that really survived over time. "Cherry Bomb" is the only song that you ever hear on the radio. The freaking "Ronnettes" and "The Shangri-Las" are much more integral female groups to the history of Rock and Roll. Ronnie has to laugh or cringe when she hears people refering to "The Runaways" as the first. 'Em excuse me, "The Ronettes" are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. (Inducted 2007)

Amen to Gary's comment.

The Ronettes and Shangri-Las so do not count. When they refer to The Runaways as the first girl rock group, they are being compared to the male dominated scene of rock like Led Zeppelin, etc. The Ronettes and Shangri-Las were nowhere near that genre of rock.

The Runaways are just being
pumped up by the Hollywood machine.
They never even made it.
The Shangri-Las had powerful vocals were strong, like nothing before them.
