'Twilight: New Moon' director Chris Weitz on Robert Pattinson's chill media 'tude
"Twilight: New Moon" director Chris Weitz talked exclusively with The Dish Rag about Robert Pattinson's noticeably more relaxed interview skills on his recent New York media tour for "Remember Me."The actor wowed NY talk show hosts with his off-the-cuff amusing remarks about how sexy Betty White is on "The View," telling the "Today Show" that he offered to do a nude photo shoot for Details, revisiting his lady parts allergy, even good-naturedly climbing up a tree for a "Bothered" video with Jimmy Fallon.
The guy is becoming a younger, wittier, even more self-deprecating George Clooney.
"I think that he is probably happy to to be talking about a non-vampire role, because he's so much more than that," Weitz reveals during our chat about the cool extras in the upcoming "New Moon" DVD, coming out on Mar. 20. (Much more on that later!)"While he's perfect for the "Twilight" role, Rob is so much more than Edward Cullen. I think he is someone who can work in all kind of film genres," Weitz said, adding, "So I bet there's a huge degree of relief."

Anyone finding anything about RPattz new during the NY promotions have never seen RPattz during the Twilight promotions. It was obvious during New Moon that Summit or whoever had gotten their grips into him because he was far more controlled and less him than he was during Twilight. Let the man be free Summit. He's smart and witty and that's what the fans want. I hope for more of the real Rob during the Eclipse promotion.
Rob is a great actor and I'm excited to see him in another job that is not related to Twilight ...
Can't wait for the movie Remember Me
Rob's interviews were great. I think he's refreshed from finally having a little down time in London. He was finally able to get away from all the madness. He's said the papz and fans don't hound him in London like they do in the states.
i didn't like him in the twilight movies - no facial expression made him look like keanu reeves
I'm a huge RP fan but I don't think that Betty White comment was off-the-cuff. It was just too perfect. I prefer him a little less scripted. He was better in the "exit interview" after The View imo than he was on the show itself (although who could really blame him with that weird Barbara Walters vibe). Seriously, Summit et al., just let the guy be himself. You cannot improve him.
P.S. Remember Me looks great. Will see it at least twice.
Rob really did seem more relaxed. Lots of smiles, jokes, and general happiness. Too bad his supposed girlfriend can't seem to pull this off.
