Tiger Woods: New records show he took Vicodin before SUV crash

Florida Highway Patrol records show that Tiger Woods took pain pills before he crashed his SUV outside his Florida mansion.Tiger's wife, Elin Nordegren, gave police officers two bottles of the narcotic Vicodin, saying that he'd taken the painkillers earlier in the day.
According to the records, which were released Friday (Mar. 12) following a public records request by the Orlando Sentinel, Nordegren requested to ride to the hospital in the ambulance with Tiger. She was denied, however, because there was a domestic violence element to the case.
State troopers attempted to retrieve Woods' medical files from HealthCentral, the Ocoee hospital he was taken to, in order to determine whether he had been drinking or under the influence. Their efforts were blocked, however, when the E.R. nurse told them that the records department was closed.
When officers returned the following day, the hospital demanded a warrant for Woods' records. The officers did not obtain a warrant and ultimately issued Woods a $164 ticket for reckless driving.
According to the records, Elin helped a barefoot Tiger out of the car after breaking the rear windows with a golf club. When officers arrived, they did not smell any alcohol. Woods' lawyer, Mark NeJame, promised the officers security camera footage from the crash, but ultimately never provided the tapes.
The following day, officers visited the Woods home. Tiger and Elin decined to speak to them, but the officers did investigate the home for signs of domestic violence and found none.
