Star Jones recovering from cardiac surgery, Barbara Walters sends best wishes

Former co-host of "The View," Star Jones, is recovering from heart surgery performed Wednesday, March 17.

Her rep tells People that the surgery was pre-planned and went successfully. "This recent surgery is a follow-up to the thoracic surgery she had 30 years ago."

When Jones was a teenager she developed a tumor in her chest and underwent a rare procedure to remove it. Jones, who will turn 48 this Wednesday is at home recovering.

On Monday's episode of "The View," Barbara Walters took a moment to mention Jones' surgery. "We just want her to know we wish her well," Walters says. "We wish her a speedy recovery, and she is in all our thoughts."
