Indie Spirit winner Mo'Nique: Why she won't write an Oscar speech

Oscar nominee MoNique won a Best Supporting Actress award at Friday's (March 5) Independent Spirit Awards held in a tent on the roof of LA Live in downtown LA.

She looked amazing in a sexy champagne silk faille gown by Tadashi Shoji, and we can't wait to see what she wears to Sunday's Oscars. But far more important than what she wore is what she said backstage after winning her award.

She talked about why she won't write an Oscar acceptance speech and what she will take away from this awards season. And she succinctly spoke about her Indie Spirit winner and Oscar nominated "Precious" costar Gabby Sidibe not being included on the cover of Vanity Fair's  Young Hollywood issue.

About why she won't write an Oscar acceptance speech. "I think the universe would say, 'You have a lot of nerve."

"Let me ask you. How did you feel about it?" MoNique said, turning the tables on the reporter who asked how she felt about Gabby being MIA on the VF cover. "I was looking for Gabby," the reporter admitted.

"So was the world," she replied.
