Should Naomi Campbell be basking in her driver's apology?

Naomi-Campbell-basks-in-drivers-apology.jpgNaomi Campbell issued a statement after the man who told police that she assaulted him while driving her in New York City apologized to the model via his lawyer yesterday (Fri. March 5).

Miodrag Mejdina's lawyer said that Mejdina believes the incident was "blown out of proportion" and he apologized to Campbell "for causing that to happen," reports the AP.

The model then issued her own statement.

It reads, "I was accused of unacceptable behavior towards a driver in New York. I have worked very hard on correcting my previous wrongdoings and I will not be held hostage to my past. I try to treat everyone with respect and I am pleased the driver has apologized. I would like to put the last few days behind me and move on."

From what we can tell, Mejdina never denies the attack happened. He says he overreacted. In the days since the alleged attack, more details have emerged around the incident.

Here's what we've heard:

  • Mejdina also drives Campbell's boyfriend, Vladislav Doronin, a billionaire property developer.
  • Sources have said that Naomi Campbell assaulted the driver after he wouldn't tell her if Doronin was cheating on her, reports FOX news.
  • While some sources have told media that she struck the man with her cell phone (her weapon of choice it seems), others said she kicked him.
  • This would be the seventh employee to come forward saying Campbell assaulted them.

We're not sure (or we won't say) why we think the driver has come back with an apology.

We will say Campbell's employees should wear helmets and we're not entirely convinced that the supermodel should be so self-righteous in her statement.

Do you think the supermodel should be so quick to "move on"?

It'll be news if we find out he is cheating. But it won't be a surprise.

She is kinda acting like a victim here, if I was one of her previously battered employees I'd be a little pissed, lol.

She had the option to say nothing.

It seems to me that Mejdina took one for the team, if I were his billionaire employer I would reward is 'objectivity' and 'discretion' with a six figure bonus.
