'Sarah Palin's Alaska' lands at TLC

sarah-palin-wireimage-2.jpgTLC, the cable channel that brought you the Gosselins, will soon be the home of Sarah Palin.

The network announced Thursday (March 25) that it has landed the rights to "Sarah Palin's Alaska," an eight-part series that will explore the natural wonders of the state as well as -- we're quoting from the TLC press release here -- "the remarkable [ex-]Governor Palin."

"Survivor" and "The Apprentice" producer Mark Burnett is executive producing the show -- which, by the way, TLC is calling a documentary and not a reality series. There's no premiere date yet, and the title could change.

Speculation had been that the show would air on Discovery Channel, but instead parent company Discovery Communications decided the best place for it was TLC, whose programming roster runs the gamut from "19 Kids and Counting" to "Cake Boss" to "Toddlers and Tiaras."

"Our family enjoys Discovery's networks," Palin says in a statement. "I look forward to working with Mark to bring the wonder and majesty of Alaska to all Americans."

Burnett says he "can't think of anyone more compelling than Sarah Palin to tell the story of Alaska. I'm thrilled to reunite with Discovery on this project, which brings together one of the most fascinating figures of our time with one of the most wondrous places on earth."

Whatever happened to TLC standing for The Learning Channel? Total Loser Channel now!!

No, I will not be watching.

Sounds great. Alaska is a big place, and most of us don't really know that much about it. It should be quite educational.

I wonder if Levi will ever show his face around this one ...

Yes I will definitely be watching, Alaska has been the subject of some interesting shows, including last season's ICE ROAD TRUCKERS.

I think Sarah Palin will be a delightful and fun "tour guide" for the state. She has a lot of enthusiasm.

Yes I will be watching!

The Learning Channel is putting up a Sarah Palin show? Really? Shouldn't they have, you know, standards? Literacy, for instance, might be nice.

I have no interest in anything that would benefit Sarah Palin in any way. What a waste of time and money. TLC is becoming the network of Totally Loser Crap. Sarah Palin has nothing to teach anyone. She's have to know and understand something first.

Obama is tearing the country apart he needs to be impeached.
Sarah was right about his lack of experience and hyper partisan style could cause a civil war.
Pray for your country.

It would be better if Palin watched the History channel. Maybe TV wasteland will be good for her and she can disappear like Jon G.

Not watching anything with this bimbo.
