Report: Richard Finch of KC and the Sunshine Band admits to sex with teenage boys

richard-finch.jpgRichard Finch, a music producer and co-founder,of KC and the Sunshine Band (remember "Shake Your Booty" and "Keep It Comin' Love"?), has reportedly acknowledged having sex with teenage boys.

According to the Licking County, Ohio, sheriff's office, Finch, 56, was arrested Tuesday (March 23) after a boy reported to authorities last week that he'd had sexual contact with Finch at Finch's  home in Newark.

Finch admitted to police he'd had sex with his accuser and other boys ranging in age from 13 to 17, the AP reports.

Finch, a former bass player for the Sunshine Band (the lead singer was Harry "KC" Casey) and a seven-time Grammy Award winner, was held at the sheriff's office on $250,000 bond.

KC-and-the-Sunshine-Band.jpgA message posted on the Richard Finch Productions website said:

"We will let due process happen through the legal system and, through that, we are sure Mr. Finch will be vindicated from these unfounded allegations."

Finch started KC and the Sunshine Band in the 1970s. Their best-known songs include "Get Down Tonight," "That's the Way (I Like It)" and "I'm Your Boogie Man."

It may be difficult to boogie down to Sunshine Band's tunes at '70s flashback parties from now on. Uh-huh, uh-huh.
