Rep. Randy Neugebauer of Texas is 'baby killer' shouter, apologizes to Bart Stupak
During the Sunday, March 21 health care debate, Rep. Bart Stupak changed his vote from no to yes after President Obama signed an executive order restricting federal funding of abortions. During Stupak's floor speech, an unidentified congressman yelled out "baby killer!" That congressman has now been identified as Rep. Randy Neugebauer of Texas. Neugebauer has issued as apology.
Via Huffington Post: "In the heat and emotion of the debate, I exclaimed the phrase 'it's a baby killer' in reference to the agreement reached by the Democratic leadership ... I deeply regret that my actions were mistakenly interpreted as a direct reference to Congressman Stupak himself."
Neugebauer continues, "I have apologized to Mr. Stupak and also apologize to my colleagues for the manner in which I expressed my disappointment about the bill. The House Chamber is a place of decorum and respect. The timing and tone of my comment last night was inappropriate."
So, bygones? Perhaps people should just stop interrupting floor speeches to shout inappropriate things during congressional sessions. It's not like Congress is open-mic night at the Chuckle Hut.

If the shoe fits.....
The bill is a country killer, the way the bill is written, it IS a baby killer, and if you voted yes to it Mr. Stup(id)ak, then you are a baby killer too...
Well at least the bill he voted yes on will have more restrictions about abortions (once the Executive Order is attached) than it would of had otherwise. Unfortunately whether we like it or not, abortions are a fact of life (albeit a VERY SAD fact of life), especially when a pregnancy has resulted from rape or incest or when the mother's life is being put at risk by having a child.
Well, aren't you clever? You can not support abortion without sounding like an idiot. It's people like you, sayitlikeitis, that makes me embarrassed that we somewhat support the same side.
I agree with both Jade and Justme.
Just to let everyone know a Executive Order is NOT law.
Replubicans are so desperate...
they are NOT working for US
FYI For those countries that have universal health care, the rate of abortions is actually LOWER than the US per capita. The reason being that women are more likely to keep their pregnancy if they know there will be services to care for their newborn. This, in addtion to greater access to birth control, i.e. the pill. This is fact. "Baby killer" is just unsubstantiated hyperbole. Thank you and now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
Well I guess the Dems aren't either. Over 55% of Americans OPPOSED this bill. Less than 50% supported it. 33 Dems voted against the bill.
What sick and cowardly loser. He and his cronies didn't admit to unitl he was threatened with being outed. He can voice his opinion, sure, Im for free speech and al, but I HATE WHITE COWARDS WHO HIDE BEHIND THE SHEET. STEP UP and BE REAL!! If it's OK for TEABAG supporters and pAlin pricks to yell racist epithets, OWN IT rather than hide. Don't worry, Dems aren't pressed because that BLACK MAN in the WH just kicked A-- yesterday. He LIVES in the WHITEHOUSE- a place these white males thought belonged to them. WHO'S the BOY now??? You can call him and his supporters N------ and Fa----- all you want. but you will NEVER have the power he has obtained.
