'Real Housewives' Jacqueline Laurita on Danielle Staub's mom's passing, 'Sad to hear' [Updated]
Last week, "The Real Housewives of New Jersey's" Danielle Staub attended her mother's funeral. Her mother, Ruth Merril, died on March 21 from a stroke at the age of 75. Staub says none of the other Jersey "housewives" reached out to her in her time of grief. Now, costar Jacqueline Laurita has responded to the accusation."Last she told me," Laurita tweeted. "She had NO contact w/her Mom in many years & had NO desire to. News to me. Must be new in the past few months. Sad to hear."
People Magazine was the first to report Staub's comments that her castmates didn't support her.
"We know how they feel about me," Staub told the magazine of her costars. "They weren't my friends before the show, they weren't friends with me on the show, and they won't be friends with me when the show has come and gone. I don't expect them to reach out to me. I would actually be shocked. I would prefer not to have people be fake around me."
According to Staub, Merril appears in the show, which premieres on May 3 for its second season on Bravo.
"She's on the show a little bit," Staub says. "She's definitely a voice of reason with me. She was a sweet woman. She adopted me. I was her miracle. She was one of the most energetic women. She was a very religious woman, a God-fearing woman."
It's no secret that Staub, whose criminal record became public on the show last season, is not part of the show's inner circle made up of sisters Carolyn Manzo and Dina Manzo, their sister-in-law, Laurita, and their close friend, Teresa Giudice.
Laurita, who was the closest to Staub in Season 1 and tried to get the other women to befriend her, is apparently the only "housewife" to respond to Danielle's claims at this time.

Sorry for her, it's hard to lose a parent but Danielle went out of her way to blame her antics on a bad childhood and has said she wasn't close to her mother at all. I believe Danielle is just using this as another way to gain press. That's the kind of woman she is. I don't believe any of the other housewives should have reached out to her. She's dangerous. Any amount of contact with her usually leads to a way for this woman to get at them in some fashion. I find her despicable.
Danielle never had anything good to say about her family, and it's obvious they're not friends since she's a shady, shady person... Why would they reach out to her? And didn't Jacqueline's daughter, Ashley, got sued for yanking Danielle's hair off? Amazing stuff hahaha. I don't see any of the housewives being friends with her any time soon.
On the reunion show, Danielle stated that she was adopted by an abusive family. Many many times on the show, she's stated the only people she had in her life were her daughters. Something's funny about all this.

Danielle does nothing but lie these days. She stated that she had an abusive childhood, then goes to say that none of the housewives were there for her I WONDER WHY!!! She steals her daughter tunder at the cover shoot. SHE NEEDS HELP!!!
I don't understand why Danielle needs to be friends with these bullies.YOU DON'T NEED THEM.Especially now that Christine is modeling....But i think it is the show that makes up stories between Danielle and the bullies of Franklyn Lakes.
The other housewives are not bullies.. Danielle has brought all this upon herself. I love, love, love the other housewives and think that danielle does all crap she does just to get the attention. She is media hungry, and only care's about herself.
insane- you dont talk to your family you talk bad about them say you were abused blame everything on everyone else and then talk to them for a minute and want everyone to give you sympathy because they passed unbelievable i hope she gets the help she needs
