'Precious' star Gabourey Sidibe to host 'Saturday Night Live' [UPDATED]
After the Oscars, Howard Stern insisted that the "Precious" Best Actress Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe is the size of a planet and will never work again. How do those words taste, Howie? Want some ketchup? Mayo? Because according to the intrepid celebrity reporter Marc Malkin at E!, Gabby has just inked a deal to host SNL.
No date specified yet. Tina Fey and Ryan Phillippe are up next. And the indomitable Betty White has dibs on May 8, just in time for Mother's Day.
Do we need to mention that Gabby also has a recurring role as a student on Showtime's upcoming "The Big C," starring Laura Linney as a teacher with cancer, series, premiering in June, also starring another planet-sized actor, Oliver Platt.
Congrats, Gabby. And Howard, you can suck it.
[UPDATE] : An NBC rep has confirmed to Zap2it that Sidibe will indeed host "Saturday Night Live." She'll appear on the April 24th episode.

Who cares if she got another gig. It doesn't makes Stern's point any less true. Just watch her try to climb down the stairs when she comes through the doors for her opening monologue. It won't be pretty.
I usually think that people who write comments on these articles are losers but I must say that this article is pathetic. Howard Stern is right. She got a job on SNL. That's not a high profile movie. It's a TV show taking advantage of controversy. Do you think that Betty White would be hosting in May if Entertainment Tonight hadn't talked about it night after night? Come on! One more point, if you want to beat up on people calling Gabby fat, why isn't anyone yelling at Jamie Foxx? He's on his Sirius show calling her Notorious Precious and talking about her eating beans. What's worse? Mocking her weight? Or making a statement about how superficial hollywood is. Gabby is a big woman and Howard is a shock jock that has no regard for tack. She can have a great career in helping obese and unhealthy chidren get healthy and not in a sickly skinney way, which by the way is just as unhealthy. I wish Gabby well and I am waiting to see just how far she will go. Gabby can also show kids that they may not be perfect in every way, but to keep striving to be the best inspite their imperfections.
