Oscars 2010: Nine Germans arrested on the red carpet

Christoph-Waltz-Oscars.jpgMaybe it was to catch a glimpse of fellow German-speaking Best Supporting Actor winner Christoph Waltz but for some reason, nine German men felt the need to create fake passes for the Oscars red carpet on Sunday (Mar. 7) -- and paid the price.

TMZ reports that cops approached the men around 4:45 p.m. PST when they were spotted amongst the stars on the red carpet. Their fake MTV and CITI credentials didn't fly with the police, and all nine were arrested for trespassing and taken to a nearby jail.

The German Oscar enthusiasts are expected to be released this morning.
