Matt Damon disappointed by Obama: 'Everyone feels a little let down'

matt-damon-barack.jpg
Matt Damon admits that he's "disappointed" by Barack Obama's performance as U.S. President thus far.

He pledged his allegiance to Obama's presidential campaign and was ecstatic when Obama won and was sworn in as president of the U.S. in January 2009.

But has he lived up to our expectations? For himself, Damon says "no."

Damon tells the New York Daily News, "Politics is compromise. I'm disappointed in the healthcare plan and in the troop build-up in Afghanistan."

"Everyone feels a little let down because, on some level, people expected all their problems to go away," he added. "But real change comes from everyday people. You can't wait for a leader."

Damon stars in "The Green Zone," a new political suspensel thriller about WMD, faulty intel, a political plot and the invasion of Iraq.

Are you with Damon? Are you disappointed by Obama? Tell us why?

Obama seems stuck in campaign mode. I also thought that he understood economics a little better than he does. He's made just about every wrong decision there he could....

We all knew that there would be a letdown because the hype was unbelievable.

However between the economy and his need for inclusiveness, I think the President did not enforce the radical course change that everyone wanted and took too long to do everything.

I think Obama put too much stock in TRYING to make the Repub's come around. He needs to learn they're "just not that into him!"

That said, i'm not really disappointed. I think he tried playing "nice" and you can't blame him for that, that is who we voted for and why we like Obama so much. But i hope he learns and gets a bit more cutthroat and just starts getting more done without the Repub's (damn 'em). Obviously, i'm not so nice like Obama. :)

One more thing, that is as Obama stated in his SOTU address, things don't change overnight. and it's not always easy. I needed him to remind me of that fact. Just because things didn't happen perfectly, don't give up everybody! (i mean those who voted for him.) When the going gets tough, we can't give up!

I have some disappointment, but it's more about the total mess this country is in than just in Mr. Obama. Anybody with a grain of sense would have known he would have a reality check once he entered office -- that's pretty much happened to every President, at least in the modern era, that I can think of, in both parties.

There was always going to be tension between the real liberals and the more moderate Democrats, and especially the Independents who helped elect him. One group wants him to accept no compromise and stick to the liberal script, the other is more willing to allow a more moderate approach and pass less than perfect legislation which can be improved on later, rather than risk total defeat.

Obama inherited a huge mess. I know people are tired of hearing that, but it's the truth. I think it's absurd to be expecting him to have kept every promise and solved every problem in 14 months.

Don't be a quitter, Matt! When things are hard, there is always the temptation to give up and jump ship. It hasn't been enough time to judge Obama yet, i'm still giving him a chance.

Obama's dismissal of the process will be a costly decision. The process is a critical strategic move which always impacts the final yield and how long it will stand...Obama is making a huge mistake in not taking more seriously the process...

I am disappointed in Obama. He gave way too much away to the Repugs in the healthcare fight. He has been very slow in bringing our troops home from the middle east, Afghanistan rages on and on, only the 'combat troops', about 1/4 of our forces have been recalled. Obama has no backbone, he is not a leader. He has pissed off so many people that now we have the tea bag movement running all over us. Obama is a fail, I'm sad to say.

Obama has been such an epic FAILURE that he's even losing his generals, his party and hollywood, but still has the press on his side, cause they will go down with him even if they lose whaterver credibility they have left.

Instead of working on JOBS and ECONOMY for 18 months, he spent 18 months ramming obamcare down our throats, well guess what people's premiums have skyrocketed and they are MAD as HELL.
Not to mention 3TRILLION in spending to fix economy that also Failed.

I was a democrat, now I lean right. Because of Obama I woke up to the game they play. I am an independent, but have alot of conservative view, not Republican views, Conservative. I would follow him if he did only one thing. Enforce the law very aggressively against illegal immigrants. Everybody is scared to say it, but I have lived it. They are not undocumented workers, they are ILLEGAL. They broke our laws, now Obama will kiss there feet for what. Why do Democrats want to legalize all illegals? To make them potential Democratic voters. That is sick. Mean while, us black people are losing our neighbors to them. I lived in a multi-racial neighborhood, and now it is overrun with 5 illegal Mexicans to a house. Don't come to Houston, I am leaving.
