Justin Bieber's manager Scott 'Scooter' Braun charged for not tweeting canceled concert

scott-scooter-braun.jpgRemember the riots at the Roosevelt Field Mall back in November of last year when a Justin Bieber concert was canceled and a hoard of tween girls went nucking futs?

Bieber's manager Scott "Scooter" Braun was asked to tweet that the concert was canceled (as if that was going to stop the wailing and gnashing of teeth over the non-Beeb). If you'd like to follow the infamous non-riot-stopping Twitter account, you can do so here. The prosecutor says it took Braun 1 1/2 hours to send two tweets, but his lawyer says it took seven minutes

TMZ is now reporting that Scooter turned himself in on two official misdemeanor charges -- reckless endangerment and criminal nuisance.

If convicted, Scooter could face up to a year in jail.

So many comments!

First off -- how can Beeb's manager possibly go to jail for a year for this? Was a tweet really going to stop the crazed fans?

Secondly, here's what Braun did tweet:

  • "they are not allowing me to come into the mall. If you don't leave I and my fans will be arrested as the police have just told us that."
  • "the event at roosevelt mall is cancelled. Please go home. The police have already arrested one person from my camp. I don't want anyone hurt."

How is that not complying with what was asked of him? If it's just a time issue, can't they just check the time stamps on the Twitter account?

Thirdly, pocket-sized pop star Justin Bieber has a manager who goes by the name of "Scooter?"  Offffff course he does.

Finally, if he goes to jail, will Scooter be the Tweetman of Alcatraz? Will he know why the caged tweeter sings? And will Beeb help him fly the coop?

Bieber has shown his support for Scooter. He tweeted Wednesday, March 24, "You've got my total suppoert @scooterbraun Wish you were here in Chicago with us #FreeScooter."

i really dont think that Scooter should go to jail because all he did was protect justin bieber...

i agree with gaby Scooter is trying to protect justin from danger so i think that he shouldnt go to jail...

he shouldn't go to jail for that now it's march n that was way back in november any way if they were going to do any thing it should have been in november so ya n i hope theres still a summer tour iv been saving my money since x-mas to see him:(

How freaking lame is that?

An artist who is en-route is criticized for sending out information about the location he is to appear at, where there is a situation he has no knowledge of.

A record company executive and a the artist’s manager who are not at the location where the artist is to appear are charged with failing to react to a situation that they have no knowledge about and failing to respond to threats by authorities that the two charged individuals have no proof of them being who they say they are.

What about the individuals at the location where the artist was to be at, whom where responsible for the visit and the individuals responsible for crowd control, what where they charged with?

The police at the location have never heard or bull horn or a public address system?

How freaking lame is that?

If the accident was in november and they are just now responding then they have major issues if they think they can wait until right before he starts touring. Im looking forward to seeing him in concert this summer and if that gets conceled i will be far beyond angry...support Justin!!!!

i dont think he should go to jail eather thats sooo lame and scooter is ment to protect justin!
