Jason Kendall names Brian Giles, Bobby Crosby in connection to Adderall
Kansas City Royals catcher Jason Kendall is ensconced in a messy divorce in which his estranged wife Chantel alleges in official documents that Kendall uses Adderall, which is a possible performance-enhancing substance. Now Kendall has name-checked in a sworn deposition fellow players Brian Giles, an outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Bobby Crosby, an infielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates, reports Radaronline.
"I believe so?" We could say we "believe" a lot of things -- doesn't make them true. And since when did discussing Adderall mean you ingest it? That hardly sounds like incriminating evidence, but way to throw your fellow players under the Adderall bus, Kendall.
Adderall is a prescription drug used to treat attention deficit disorder (ADD), but it has recently started being used as a performance enhancer because it increases alertness, energy and awareness.
Players who have Adderall generally have a prescription for the drug (Kendall being one of them) but the incidence of ADD among major league players (8-10%) is significantly higher than the incidence of ADD in the general population (4-5%).
Is Adderall the new steroid? Should its use be banned from athletic competitions?
