'High Society's' Tinsley Mortimer: 'I do have a brain.'
Tinsley Mortimer lives in the real world. It's just a world many other people don't experience.A paparazzi favorite, the socialite headlines "High Society," an unscripted series The CW premieres Wednesday, March 10. Also a clothing and handbag designer, Tinsley maintains to Zap2it that gossip columns sometimes misrepresent her.
"I graduated from Columbia University, and I do have a brain," she muses.
"It is difficult when they flat-out get it wrong," Mortimer adds. "Unfortunately, there are still a lot of people out there who believe that just because something is written, it's fact. That's not always the case, so I feel I have to defend myself a lot of the time. I'm sort of that girl you see in the picture -- maybe in a prissy little pose on the red carpet -- more than someone you've heard speak."
Mortimer feels her exposure in "High Society" could go a long way toward resolving that, but she admits to second thoughts about doing the show: "It's difficult when you're with people in your life who don't want to be in the public eye so much. It's hard for them to understand that this is what you want to do. If people know who you are, they're interested in your sister or your mother or anyone like that."
During filming of "High Society," reports suggested the show might be less than "real," with producers prompting certain on-camera conversations. "Some people aren't as willing to let go and really be themselves," Mortimer acknowledges, "while other don't have buttons to censor themselves. This is not scripted, though. You can't make this stuff up."

ehrm, just how old is she??
She'll be 34 this year! Grow up!
This women is a train wreck and needs to get a life. I worked on part of this show and see is a complete mess.
She needs to eat a bacon double cheese burger, get a new therapist those won't kiss her ***, and some new friends that won't tolerate her B.S., and get a real job like the rest of us.
She has no more business being on TV than my 10 year old does being a brain surgeon.
