'Dancing With the Stars' Kate Gosselin's birthday wish: Not to get the boot

kate-gosselin-shopping-cart.jpgKate Gosselin is hoping for some birthday luck on the dance floor during Monday night's "Dancing With the Stars" performance.

The mom of eight just celebrated her 35th birthday on Sunday (March 28), and she did so without her brood in sight. The majority of her actual birthday was spent practicing with her partner, Tony Dovolani. But according to Hollywood Life, the reality TV mom got in a little relaxation time on Saturday when she went for a mani/pedi at Planet Nails & Tans in Reading, PA.

We'll see if Gosselin can rebound from her shaky performance last week, which earned her some of the lowest scores of the night along with a comparison to a shopping cart.

What do you bet that we will be "surprised" to see 8 little Gosselins in matching outfits sitting in the front row to surprise mommy? The surprise had to be planned with mommy giving permission for the kids to fly. I expect that they will be accompanied by Gina Nield and a nanny. When K and Steve flew off on Saturday, Gina was left with the kids.

It doesn't matter that they might miss school. The septuplets are already one year behind their peers. They will turn six in early May and other six-year olds will be going to first grade and the G-6 will be going to Kindergarten.

Why isn't K as concerned about their lack of preparedness both socially and academically as she is with seeking her own stardom?

How would we all measure up as parents if every move we made was filmed? I think Kate has done remarkably well and I am proud of the way she has undertaken big challenges in her life (Dancing with the stars)knowing the media was there to attack her. It's obvious that she loves her children and wanted the marriage to work and is doing the best she can considering the hand she was dealt. I can't say as much for Jon. He is a disappointment. I thought he would be care more about his children than to have such an "active" social life. What are they to think? I admire Kate's attitude/responses to all that has gone on! Go Kate!!!

I would think Kate would be glad to have Tony as a partner if not for the only reason that he is a strong one and she definitely needs that. That poor girl does not have any rhythm. She should have worn a long dress again tonight so we couldn't see exactly how many steps she missed. And, honestly, how many others saw her mouthing her moves? Kate needs to go home and and take caree of her 8 children and go back to nursing. She should have thought about how much 8 children was going to cost before they decided to have so many children. I've got a feeling her celebrity days are about over and now comes the reality of life!
