Corey Feldman: Corey Haim 'will always be my brother'

corey-feldman-corey-haim.jpgCorey Feldman, Corey Haim's long-time friend and frequent co-star, says Haim's death is a "tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul."

In a statement on his friend's death, Feldman says Haim "will always be my brother, family, and best friend."

Haim and Feldman starred together in several movies -- most notably "The Lost Boys," "Dream a Little Dream" and "License to Drive" -- and in the 2007-08 A&E series "The Two Coreys," which chronicled their sometimes contentious relationship as adults.

Haim died early Wednesday (March 10) at his home in Los Angeles of an apparent accidental overdose.

Here's the full text of Feldman's statement:

"I was awakened at 8:30 this morning by my brother and sister knocking on my bedroom door. They informed me of the loss of my brother Corey Haim. My eyes weren't even open all the way when the tears started streaming down my face. I am so sorry for Corey, his mother Judy, his family, my family, all of our fans, and of course my son who I will have to find a way to explain this to when he gets home from school. This is a tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family, and best friend. We must all take this as a lesson in how we treat the people we share this world with while they are still here to make a difference. Please respect our families as we struggle and grieve through this difficult time. I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived."

I had the great fortune of meeting Corey Haim a few years ago. Corey was a very kind man who will be greatly missed. His acting gifts will live on!

Cory has always been a nice guy he was good christian guy that went to church on sundays then smoked crack the rest of the week. I wish someone could of got to him sooner//

Uh, Haim was a Jew Jimmy you dumb hillbilly

love how its always "accidental" oops i used to much cocaine on accident. come on man

Many thoughts and prayers go out to the family and dear friends of Corey we all need to respect the family and friends through this time what if it was someone in your family?????

I love the ignorance in these posts... wait until someone that you know has an addiction problem and dies. Grow up. Oh and an "accidental overdose" is a true medical term. It is the opposite of a suicide. Unfortunately individuals with drug addictions die accidentally- just like someone who drinks can die accidentally.
God bless the Haim family and friends.

Scul- I have reported your tasteless post to the blogmaster (Rick Porter) and asked that your statement be removed. You do not deserve to be heard with your cruelty and bigotry. Write your own ugly blog that your own kind might enjoy. RIP Corey

omg I hope you meant Jimmy's post? Geez.

many thoughts and preyers go to coreys family and friends, the good always die young, good night and god bless, you were taken to young xxxxx

Corey Haim was so awesome. I can't believe this happened. I feel like part of childhood is gone too. But I know that Corey is with God and I wish the best for him.
