Andrew Koenig's parents left frustrated with 'Larry King Live,' says sister

Walter-Judy-Koenig-Andrew-Mising-Larry-King-Live-500.jpgLast night (Wed. 2/24), Walter and Judy Levitt Koenig, the parents of missing "Growing Pains" actor Andrew Koenig, walked out on "Larry King Live," leaving the host dumbfounded as to why.

Media and fans speculated that the couple had heard some news about their son that required immediate attention to the possibility that Larry King had somehow offended them.

Danielle Koenig, Andrew's sister, says it's the latter.

"['Larry King Live'] kept pushing the segment back and my dad was growing frustrated," Danielle Koenig tells Zap2it exclusively. "When he realized there were only four-and-a-half minutes left, he didn't feel that was enough time to do my brother justice. So, he left."

After the couple left, Larry King announced live on the show that they were prepped to go on and seemed ready, then abruptly "got up and left for reasons unknown."

Afterward, he tweeted, "Still not sure what happened with the Koenigs. I talked to them in the break and told them they were on next. Then they left..."

Well, Larry, now you know.

The hunt for Andrew Koenig continues. As of today (Thu. 2/25), it has been 11 days since friends last saw him on Valentine's Day. Friends and family have reported that the actor had been suffering from severe depression.

Andrew Koenig played Richard "Boner" Stabone on "Growing Pains" for four seasons. He is white, 5'5" tall, 135 lbs., with long, brown shoulder-length hair and brown eyes.

I understand their frustration, but 4 1/2 minutes is better than 0 minutes :-/

Yes but walking out on Larry King will get more stories on other sources than 4 1/2 minutes on Larry King's show.

Probably just being on here doubled the numbers who watch Larry King

Bob, my pinky has more intelligence than you. LKL is one of the most watched shows on cable, it's watched by millions of people.

NUCLEAR VESSELS!

Larry King is a d bag, now he can claim the poor dead kid would have ben saved but for him.

The kid was already dead, I thought 4 1/2 minutes was plenty of time for a washed up actor and his wife to cry about their washed up actor son's corpse.

The kid was already dead, I thought 4 1/2 minutes was plenty of time for a washed up actor and his wife to cry about their washed up actor son's corpse. THE PREVIOUS WAS WRITTEN BE PBNYC Your a piece of ****. I hope you DIE a horrible death *******!!!

He was better looking and funnier than the other kids on Growing Pains.I never knew that his Dad was Walter Koenig from star trek before He went missing.Too bad Hollywood didn't keep him working he would have been great in slacker comedy movies or never know more serious roles. That was their choice to walk off Larry King.I wouldn't have wanted to be thrown a crumb of time and put on the back burner myself.

yes, I'm no longer shocked...At the sheer stupidity and arrogance of so-called "journalists" be it on TV or on paper. While I know Larry would never read this, how obtuse can you get? what he and the show's producers did was just rude, disrespectful and the fact that he can't figure that out - SHEER IGNORANCE AND STUPIDITY. He's over. Don't let the door hit you in the back of your head on the way out Larry.
