Why is Karina Smirnoff off 'DWTS': Maksim over-exposure?
When "Dancing With the Stars" returns, Karina Smirnoff will sadly not be there.
The brunette dancer won't be dancing. But she'll be behind-the-scenes "helping with choreography," according to E! News.
So far, the only new celebrity female hoofer is rumored to be confirmed as a contender is former pinup Pamela Anderson. Wonder if she'll be dancing with Smirnoff's ex fiance, Maksim Chmerkovskiy!
Season 2 contestant Tia Carrere thinks she knows the real reason Karina won't be dancing. And it may have something to do with Maksim.
"She's probably trying to get over Maksim." Tia told Hollywoodlife.com, adding "Well, they were engaged and they broke up, so I don't know, it's what I'd do."
Although they had a big wedding planned, the relationship went south and they split up in September 2009.
If this is true, The Dish Rag cannot blame Karina. Can you? Seriously, who wants to see the annoying ex every day at work? Besides, dude wears sequined cropped vests. Although it would have added some ex-tra (get it?) spice to the show, right?

Old news . . . Karina needs to take a while off and look at her life's trajectory. She's making a great seductress, and getting lots of beach time with innumerable hunks, but who will want her after everyone's had her??? Maksim has so much more class and found his high school sweetheart was not the sweetheart he thought she was. Glad she's gone and I hope for good.
My understanding is that Karina broke up with Maksim. He is one big hunk and my favorite male dancer. I would be very disappointed if he ever leaves DWTS!!!!
