Tiger Woods press conference scheduled for Friday, Feb. 19

You can catch a Tiger by the tale in a nationwide press conference on Friday, Feb. 19 at 11 a.m. ET. Woods will speak for about five minutes and there will be no questions, says Tiger Woods' agent Mark Steinberg to the Associated Press.

The gathering will be a "small group of friends, colleagues and close associates" and that three wire services (Associated Press, Reuters and Bloomberg) will be invited.

Steinberg also said in a statement, "While Tiger feels that what happened is fundamentally a matter between he and his wife, he also recognizes that he has hurt and let down a lot of other people who were close to him. He also let down his fans. He wants to begin the process of making amends and that's what he's going to discuss."

This will be Tiger's first public appearance since the Nov. 27 car crash that kicked off a media firestorm that ultimately ended in Tiger reportedly entering sex rehab.

There is no word on whether wife Elin Nordegren will be by his side, but if we were to guess ... we'd say yes. This is Tiger's first step back in rehabbing his image and her absence, while understandable, would be very telling.
