'Precious' star Gabourey Sidibe brushes off Vanity Fair cover snub

Vanity Fair's March issue had a fold-out cover with nine young thin, pretty actresses in ethereal designer dresses, touted as 'The Fresh Faces of 2010.'
Abbie Cornish, Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Amanda Seyfried, Rebecca Hall, Mia Wasikowska, Anna Kendrick, Emma Stone, and Evan Rachel Wood clearly all had a good year and good performances.
But the biggest newcomer with the most amazing story, Oscar nominee Gabouray Sidibe, who made her acting debut in the lead role in "Precious," was not included to make it an even ten.

However, Gabby was interviewed for the issue and appeared inside the magazine.
"At first I thought, 'Hmm, should I be there?" she tells Access Hollywood. "Then I very quickly got over it. I think if I were a part of that shoot I would have felt a little left out anyway."
"I would have felt a little like... whether or not I should have been there," she said. "[It] doesn't matter, because I wasn't on it and I'm excited to be mentioned anywhere, and it doesn't matter to me where I'm not mentioned."
Why do you think Vanity Fair left her out?

Of course Vanity Fair is not going to put Gab on their magazine they have to keep a certain image! And its bull and people wonder why there is ebony and jet and essence magazine. We are never included in anything so we have to create our own stuff! So she will win that oscar and they will put her all over that magazine. Playin the good o'l race card!
Actually she's a cute girl. Of course she needs to loose some weight. I think that she would have felt out of place even if she was white against all of those razor thin girls. I love her response. I just wish her the best and to not be in denial about her weight. Very intelligent young lady.
she's fat, and black, vanity fair are racists that hate fat people
That's such crap. I go to the movies all the time and I don't know a couple of those girls, but I sure know about Gabby and Zoe Saldana. Ridiculous racism.
well becuase she is f-ing uglyer than michael jackson. but zoe should be on there and when megan fox gets more stuff out she should be on it.
racism? are you kidding? Personally, I wouldn't buy that magazine because she is disgusting. Turn on the Academy awards right now....gross. cry racism somewhere else and put down the donut.
dr.house, you are a f-ing a-hole and I bet you wife says the same about you every morning she wakes up looking at your ugly mug. "Biach"!
No.....she has only done ONE movie and she is not going to do any other...unless they need her to play the Exxon Valdez
the article is about up and coming actresses, Gabourey sidibe while she did a great job in precious will most likely never get another lead role in a film
