Olympic snowboarder Shaun White in Playboy on losing his gold medal, smoking pot

In all the hoopla surrounding John Mayer's recent Playboy interview, everybody missed snowboarder Shaun White's 20 Questions.

White reveals he once misplaced his Olympic gold medal, which he won for the men's halfpipe at the 2006 Torino games, and eventually found it in the back pocket of the front seat of his car. He was "stoked to have it again."

We should say so.

White also comments on smoking pot with Olympian Michael Phelps. "With Phelpsy? Old Smoke on the Water? No. To be honest, I've never been into going there. My friends, I'll admit, most of them do ... and now, because it's Olympic time and everybody's getting tested for drugs, you see them just sweating bullets, man. I'm like, 'Ah, whatever.'"


White also speaks about his blue-collar upbringing and family road trips so he could snowboard. "At first we'd take a really small van and drive up and stay at a Motel 6. We'd pile into a room and drop one mattress onto the floor and leave just the box spring for Dad. It was funny because I didn't know any better. I thought, That's cool--a slumber party. I was stoked. I had fun. And it made it possible for me to snowboard."

The infamous John Mayer issue, featuring "Real Housewives" star Kelly Bensimon on the cover and now Shaun White in the 20 Questions segment, hit newsstands Feb. 12.
