EXCLUSIVE: Naomi Campbell breaks down, celebs tweet tributes to Alexander McQueen
Naomi Campbell broke down, sobbing hysterically, when she found out about her longtime friend, designer Alexander McQueen's death.
The Dish Rag's source at New York's Fashion Week scene, who was standing near the supermodel, reports exclusively that she immediately started "crying, she was just hysterical and shaking."
Thursday's presentation of McQueen's lower-priced line, McQ, was cancelled. Reports are that Naomi was due to model in it.
Other fashion fans are tweeting and talking about McQueen's apparent suicide.
Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe tweeted, "I can't describe the tragic loss of such a brilliant man and designer Alexander McQueen..R.I.P."
"I'm in shock! So sad!" tweeted Kim Kardashian. "I'm wearing one of his dresses now! He was such a talented designer."
Kirstie Alley tweeted: "you made big bottomed and not so big bottomed girls all over the world look stunning..come back soon..give it another go"
Dita von Teese said: "Rest in peace, Mr. McQueen."
Kelly Osbourne wrote, "i am so so sad to hear the news...i really just dont know what say im really in shock"
Vogue editor Anna Wintour called McQueen "one of the greatest talents of his generation...In such a short career, [his] influence was astonishing - from street style, to music culture and the world's museums. His passing marks an insurmountable loss."
