Marie Osmond's son Michael Blosil commits suicide

Marie Osmond's son Michael Blosil jumped to his death Friday night (Feb. 26) in Los Angeles. Blosil, 18, one of Marie's eight children, died after jumping from his downtown Los Angeles apartment at about 9 p.m.
Blosil's note explained that his suicide was due to his life-long battle with severe depression that left him, he said, feeling as if he had no friends and could never fit in.
"My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time," Marie tells ET.
Donny and Marie's Las Vegas show has been cancelled tonight.
This is horrible and incredibly sad. First Andrew Koenig, now Michael Blosil., dead from depression. Our thoughts and condolences to their loved ones.

Marie and Walter: my heart goes out to you
This is very sad. RIP.
Wow, Brooke, way to show compassion. Depression is a brutal thing to suffer from, and if you ever know someone who suffers from it, you will see that no matter how much you reach out to them, they cannot take your hand. But as long as you can find a way to use tragedy to express your petty dislikes of celebrities, then I guess that's all that matters, right? Good for you. Keep it up.
You know, suicides aren't that sad. Suicide is a cop out. It's the easy way out. It should not be mourned. It should be mocked. It is selfish and is one of the most lame ways to die. I feel bad for the families but not for the individuals.
I guess (American Eagle) has a very happy life and have a well mannerd parents and loving friends. lets let him or her be..
I send my love to the Osmond famiy! I just lost a friend to suicide and a brother to suicide. It is a health issue! Not something you can control! Get out of the dark ages and accept people who suffer from this disease! Only until you suffer from chronic depression will you understand how hopeless life is! It is more about educating yourself and understanding the illness! May you never have to experience the pain and suffering of those who do! Yes, devastating for the family but just the same for the person that suffers. Depression is REAL!
It is very sad to hear of Marie's son, and even sadder to hear the misconception that still exists regarding those who commit suicide, like it is selfish and a cop-out. Maybe folks need a masters degress in social work to even begin to understand! Folks who are actively planning and follow through with suicide can't think straight at the time, they are mentally compromised and are no longer able to see any hope in their situation as they percieve it. Their situation seems much worse then it really is, given their state of mind and no matter what hope is handed to them, their state of mind just cannot grasp it. Suicide is a sad occurence and does leave many devistated friends and family behind. It is just that when a person is in such a state of mind as considering suicide, they can't mentally think about the cost to their family. Depression is THAT strong!
How horribly sad to think that an 18 year old believed that life would never get any better. Condolences to his entire family, please know that you are not alone.
@"Zap2It Editors" (which, on this site, is an oxymoron):
Yeah, I'll believe that when I see it. What's to keep the trolls from changing ISPs and starting the same thing up all over again, or using a friend's computer, or going to the local library/internet cafe/whatever? Until you either put the response platform back the way it was (preferably on Topix), or require registration with verifiable e-mail addresses that can be banned directly, this merde will continue. They do this because they know they can, as all children will if they know that no punishment will be forthcoming.
As for the point of the thread: I feel bad that yet another young person has taken his life, but it just goes to show that money, fame and well-known parents do not automatically equate to personal happiness. Also, people need to keep a better eye on their kids, rather than "giving them their space" and presuming that everything is hunky-dory. There are always warning signs, and they are often missed by the people who are supposed to be the closest to those who are considering suicide. No blame here, but hopefully a wake-up call.
Once again, comment submission errors are inexcusable in the year 2010, particularly when a poster has yet to submit a single comment. This website either has nobody on it that understands how to run a board like this, or they just don't give a damn.
To Marie Osborne and her family, I can only offer my prayers. Nothing else will be of any good to you. And, nothing will bring him back to your arms. This is so tragic. But you and especially his siblings must go on with their lives. This was his decision. Let it stand that way. And always support each other. My prayers and thought are with you. I just hope it helps!
