Helena Bonham Carter's magical morphing in 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'
The Dish Rag chatted exclusively with a jet-lagged Helena Bonham Carter last weekend about big heads, the Mad Hatter, working with Johnny Depp and all things "Alice in Wonderland."
More on that soon. But here's what she had to say about becoming 17 again in the upcoming "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
There's a segment in "Deathly Hallows" in which Helena's character transforms (magically, not surgically) into a 17-year-old Hermione.
"I get to do horrible things," she admits about her character Bellatrix LeStrange. "I killed Sirius Black ages ago. I kill Dobby in this one and I torture Hermione. Oh, and I get to pretend to be Hermione. Hermione takes this potion that makes her look like me. So I had to act like Hermoine pretending to be me."
Of her young Potter costars, she says, "They are such nice human beings, bright and with such great manners. I love them. I miss them."
And she also talked about shopping. Turns out the adorable vintage-looking pink frock she was wearing came from... Anthropology, of all places.
But her stockings came from "Alice in Wonderland." Literally. they were made by "Alice" costume designer Colleen Atwood.
