'Growing Pains' stars Kirk Cameron, Tracey Gold express grief over Andrew Koenig's death
"It is with great sorrow to hear about the final outcome of the search for my old friend Andrew," Cameron says in a statement. "I hope everyone will be sensitive to the Koenigs and give the family some private time to reflect and to grieve the loss of their beloved son."
Cameron played Mike Seaver alongside Koenig's character Richard "Boner" Stabone on the hit 80's show, "Growing Pains," for four seasons.
"At a time like this," Cameron's statement continues. "we all are reminded of the briefness of life and the importance of being ready for our eternal destination. My prayers will continue to be with Andrew's family."
According to Us, Gold, who played Mike's sister, Carol Seaver, on the show, stated: "Today is a sad day. My heart is broken for Andrew's family. I have such great memories of Andrew and our time together on 'Growing Pains.'"
On Mon. Feb. 22, Cameron joined his voice to other friends and family who were asking for any information leading to Koenig's whereabouts. He also made a heartfelt pleas to the then missing actor.

"Andrew, if you're reading this, please call me," Cameron said in a statement. "Mike and Boner could always work things out when they put their minds to it. I'm praying for you, pal. Hope to hear from you soon."
