'Mad Men's' Christina Hendricks pulls off a corset for New York Magazine
"Mad Men" star Christina Hendricks, who plays the voluptuous Joan Holloway on the AMC hit show, has the kind of figure that you can't help noticing. She's overtly sexy, in a kind of '50s flashback Marilyn Monroe manner. And that's quite a departure for modern Hollywood, where most starlets diet down to stick figures.
Christina, who started out as a model, recalls that her high fashion runway career ended in London when her agent asked, 'Darling, did your boobs grow?'
But with everyone in Hollywood still talking about her hour-glass figure, well, it's getting a bit old. C'mon, people. She's a serious actress. Eyes on the face, please.
"'It kind of hurt my feelings at first," she tells New York Magazine, that, of course, put her on their fashion issue cover spilling out of a white satin corset.
"Anytime someone talks about your figure constantly, you get nervous, you get really self-conscious," she tells the mag. "I was working my butt off on the show, and then all anyone was talking about was my body!"
Let's just hope Heidi Montag doesn't see this photo. She's already threatening to go bigger.
