Brittany Murphy Foundation not a charity yet, refunds promised

The Brittany Murphy Foundation -- opened by her husband Simon Monjack and mother Sharon Murphy after the actress's death -- is not a registered charity or a nonprofit group.
After TMZ broke this news yesterday, Simon and Sharon shut down the foundation website but now the site's back up and they're promising to refund all donations.

The website is actually a private foundation without official 501(c)3 non-profit status. So forget any tax deductions for your donations.
Suspicious, isn't it? Especially considering that Simon Monjack's reaction to his young wife's shocking death was to forbid an autopsy. Sorry, but the Dish Rag still can't wrap our heads around that. It's like something out of an Alfred Hitchcock film.
Btrittany's death has been officially dubbed the result of anemia, pneumonia and oh, yeah, prescription drugs.
