Bill Clinton released from NYC hospital
Thursday, Feb. 11 former President Bill Clinton was hospitalized for chest pains and had two stents placed in his coronary arteries. His daughter Chelsea was at his side and a counselor for Clinton said that the surgery went well and the former president was in good spirits.Friday, Feb. 12 he was released from Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. Advisor Douglas Band released a statement (via CNN) in which the president "expressed thanks to his doctors and many people who extended their best wishes to him for a quick recovery. He looks forward in the days ahead to getting back to the work of his foundation, and to Haiti relief and recovery efforts."
According to Dr. Allan Schwartz, chief cardiologist at the hospital, said that Clinton "has no evidence of heart attack or damage to his heart" and his prognosis is excellent.
We're glad to hear that everything is okay and hope former President Clinton has a speedy recovery from his surgery.
