Betty White will host 'SNL' if Lorne Michaels offers it. Are you listening, Lorne?

Legendary TV actress Betty White, 88, is right now hotter than Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston rolled into one.

Between her Super Bowl Snickers commercial, stealing the show from Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in "The Proposal," giving Ryan the bird on Funnyordie.com, and getting a lifetime achievement honor from the Screen Actors Guild, Ms. White has been everywhere lately.

Now she's even got a massive grass-roots effort (eat your heart out, Sarah Palin) to get her to host "Saturday Night Live."

So will she do "SNL?" Should she? Remember that the "SNL" writers haven't exactly done their hosts a big service lately.

Consider the fates of Ashton Kutcher, Jon Hamm, Taylor Lautner, etc. How would you feel if "SNL" didn't do this comic legend justice?

"I don't even know where that came from," she tells People. about the online movement. "I don't think ["SNL" creator and producer] Lorne Michaels even knows about it, so we won't worry about it."

Still, if Michaels offers her the gig, she tells People that she's up for it.

But Betty has been in the biz long enough to know that what is a wild rumor one day will easily go away the next. And the "SNL" furor is bound to diminish.

"It will go away, I promise," she says humorously. "Don't get discouraged."

We doubt it, Betty. You're our Golden Girl forever and ever.
