'American Idol's' Simon Cowell 'not engaged' to Mezhgan Hussainy

Rumors have been swirling about Simon Cowell's supposed engagement to Mezhgan Hussainy, a 36-year-old makeup artist Cowell began dating a few months ago.

US Weekly is reporting that these rumors are officially false. Cowell's longtime publicist Max Clifford tells them he spoke with Cowell in London and that Cowell says, "No! No, I'm not engaged."

The rumors were sparked when the couple was seen dining out on Valentine's Day, Hussainy sporting a diamond ring on her finger. Cowell fueled the fire in a TV appearance on Tuesday, Feb. 14 when he said that Hussainy is "the one." But they are not officially engaged.


Hussainy has been a makeup artist to the "American Idol" judges since season two and (in case you were wondering) her first name is pronounced "mish-gone."
