Wyclef Jean wants relocation of 2 million Haitians to refugee camps

Singer/activist Wyclef Jean has called for a mass relocation of the earthquake survivors to refugee camps outside Port-au-Prince.
Jean asks for help from around the world in building encampments to house the Haitian people.
"We need to migrate at least two million people,' he said, 'I give you my word, if I tell them to go, they will go. But they need somewhere to go to."
By evacuating the city, Wyclef feels that aid workers would be able to clean up the rubble more easily. It would also aid in controlling the increasing rioting and looting and distributing food and medical care.
Wyclef will cohost George Clooney's Hope for Haiti telethon from New York on Jan. 22 from 8-10 P.M. on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT.
Clooney will host the LA portion and Anderson Cooper will be live from Haiti. All funds raised will be split among Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF, and Wyclef's Yele Haiti Foundation.
What do you think of Wyclef's relocation suggestion?

I have nothing but sympathy for these people, but if the Red Cross does what it says it intends to do, The state of Florida's crime rate just got higher. The French government and Hugo Chavez will talk there rhetoric, BUT WHY AREN'T THEY OFFERING TO TAKE IN THOUSANDS OF REFUGEES?
It doesn't sound like a good idea. Even if relocated, they will still need food, clothing shelter, and medical care. Better for them to stay in Haiti and send those things there. I've experienced natural disasters first hand. Recovery happens fast. I guarantee you that before the first foreign aid arrived, there were Haitians hard at work rebuilding the infrastructure (water, electricity, roads, fuel, telecommunications, housing). It's going to be tough for a couple of more weeks, but after that, things will have stabilized and Haiti will be well on the road to recovery.
My heart goes out to all affected by the earthquake in haiti ..i have friends there right now working at an orphanage that has yet to see any aid ... but they are blessed to be unharmed and to have a building that is still standing ... I think that everyone should do what they can to help - the aftershocks are not just regular aftershocks they are above a 5.0 and should be referred to as earthquakes also .. there is no way to build camps in haiti in time to get everyone the care they need -- so why not have everyone board a ship and go somewhere for a month while port au prince can be leveled ... they shouldn't have to live in the streets b/c we're worried about theoretical crime.
I believe that God uses all for good ... and if our intentions are good then they will be honored by the people of Haiti.
