'Twilight's Breaking Dawn': One or two films? Stephenie Meyer says 'no drama'

twilight-new-moon-large.jpgBreaking up is hard to do, especially when it comes to the world of "Twilight."

No, we're not talking about relationships, but movies. As Zap2it discussed Tuesday, the length of Stephenie Meyer's fourth book and all the action in it has raised the question if the big-screen adaptation should be broken up into two films.

Even E! Online tried to make a big to-do over the question, claiming that Meyer was calling the shots and that Summit Entertainment was pressuring her to lean towards two films (more profits!), but she had a different agenda.

Well, Meyer wasn't down with that story and decided to speak for herself, posting to her personal website:

"Just a quick note on the subject of the 'Breaking Dawn' film: there is no drama over whether the book should be one movie or two. My personal feeling is that it would be very difficult to cram the whole story into one movie (as I've said in many interviews previous to this), but if a great way of doing that surfaces, I'm all for it.

"Two or one, whichever way fits the story best is fine by me, and everyone I've spoken with at Summit seems to feel the same way. We're all excited to move forward on this, and we are slowly and surely getting there. I know people are anxious for news, and so sometimes gossip gets fabricated to stir things up, but there's no basis to this particular story."

So there. No drama for now, but the question of one or two films is still up in the air.
