'Twilight: Eclipse' scores 'Lord of the Rings' composer Howard Shore

In "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," Edward Cullen will encounter a hobbit and be called upon to accompany the One Ring to Mordor.
Okay, not really, but you might be reminded of that Middle Earth adventure when watching the latest "Twilight" installment.
Summit Entertainment has landed a big fish, Academy Award-winning composer Howard Shore to score the film, reports Movie Score Magazine.
He steps in after Carter Burwell scored "Twilight" and Alexandre Desplat scored the second film, "New Moon."
"Eclipse," directed by David Slade, will hit theaters on June 30.
What do you think about Shore's involvement? Does it fit the series?

Riiiiiight, because people watch Twilight movies for the score...
I think People watch for all kinds of reasons. I think Howard Shore will be a great addition to a great movie. He will feel what needs to be heard!! Good Job Summit!
So really what is this article about? I just read it and I am not sure.
I agree with hehe. I believe the score from the first movie was what completed the feel and mood of the story. Instead of wanting the soundtrack, I wanted to purchase the original score instead. Although "New Moon" had Alexandre Desplat, I felt like it didn't give me the feel and mood that Carter Burwell gave in "Twilight". I was hoping they stuck with Burwell for the second installment.
As for Howard Shore being aboard for the third installment, I'm excited to hear his take on the score! Big thumbs up! I hope it's reminiscent to Burwell's and way more present in the film as well (don't get me wrong, the soundtrack for "New Moon" was great but I missed the score being evidentially present throughout the film).
Oops, I meant I agree with Kimberly, not hehe. :O
