Sandra Bullock on $1 million Haiti donation: 'Because I can'

On Friday (Jan. 11), Sandra Bullock donated a million dollars to Doctors Without Borders to aid in the Haiti relief effort. Bullock said in a statement, "I wanted to ensure that my donation would be used immediately to meet the needs of the Haitian people affected by this catastrophic event."
On the Golden Globes red carpet, when Ryan Seacrest asked Bullock why she made the donation, she simply replied, "Because I can."
Bullock went on to win the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama for her work in "The Blind Side" and showed off her sense of humor in her acceptance speech when she told her family to "put down the Maker's Mark and go to bed."
Bullock also showed off her sensitive side when she got choked up talking about her husband Jesse James and thanked him for always having her back.
We wonder if Sandra Bullock will play any part in George Clooney's telethon to raise money for Haiti airing Friday, Jan. 22?

She is not only a great star but a great human being. It is not only about showing off who you can get to have others give money it is about getting the job done. She should be more recognized for the awesome thing that she has done. I wish other stars would follow in the footsteps of this wonderful woman.
