Russell Brand, Katy Perry got engaged! Must have been some kiss

Russell Brand kissed Katy Perry and he liked it. A lot. Now he's put a ring on it.

All those modern musical relationship cliches apply to the surprisingly swift engagement of singer Katy Perry and comedian Russell Brand. 

They've been dating since September 2009 so clearly they've been through a lot together -- red carpets, music awards, fashion shows, a Paris cemetery, exotic holidays -- and they probably finish each other's sentences and she gets all his jokes. So naturally, they got engaged just five days ago while on a surprise holiday to Jaipur, India. 

According to US Weekly, a pal says that Brand, proposed with a ring, and that Perry happily accepted.  In a Dec. 29 Tweet, the pop singer shared a snapshot of her and Brand in front of India's famed Taj Mahal. "He built this for me," she wrote beneath the photo.
