Rihanna to perform at Grammys? Producer says in 2011
Rihanna's gotta be feeling a little introspective on this 2010 Grammy weekend. It's the one-year anniversary of the brutal beating she endured at the hands of her then boyfriend, Chris Brown, which happened after Clive Davis' pre-Grammy bash.
A lot has happened in the year since that ugly incident, including rumors of a reconciliation, a guilty verdict, public apologies, therapy, interviews on "20/20" and an ongoing restraining order keeping the former lovers apart, even on the carpets. And Rihanna even won Glamour's Woman of the Year award.
And it sure looks like Rihanna is enjoying Grammy weekend this more she did last year.
She showed up at the Grammy's Gifting Suite on Saturday (Jan. 30) at the Staples Center looking cute in tight acid-washed jeans and a cropped top. She picked up a $200 JBL ipod dock and two pairs of $70 JBL headphones.
She's also getting a special visit from Harman International when they go to her home to outfit her place with a custom Harman/Kardon home theater worth $2,500.00
Rihanna might also bag another chance to perform at the Grammy awards. Last year she -- and Brown -- were no-shows ... for obvious reasons.
Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich says he talked to her about performing this year.
"How can you be mad at Rihanna? Rihanna is a lovely person. No, we're not mad at her. We actually talked about possibly doing something this year but I think probably next year will be Rihanna's year," Ehrlich said.
Rihanna is expected to attend tonight's Grammys and is nominated for two awards for "Run This Town," her collaboration with Jay-Z and Kanye West.
We can't wait to see if she will wear a Jean-Paul Gaultier creation!

She sure is promoted a lot but how many real fans she has, idk? saw her perform live on SNL a few weeks back and she sang worse than i expected. i think Rihanna is more promotion than actual substance. but so was Chris Brown for that matter.
