'Real Housewives of N.J.'s' Danielle Staub and daughter in car accident [Updated]

"Real Housewives of New Jersey" bad girl, Danielle Staub was in a car accident earlier today (Thu. Jan. 28). One of her daughters was also involved, Radar Online reports.

"We can confirm that Miss Staub was involved in a minor car accident," says a spokesman for Poquannock police in New Jersey. "After the vehicle she was traveling in lost control in some icy conditions."

Mom and daughter were transported to Chilton Hospital in Pompton Plains, NY for treatment. An eyewitness at the hospital says Staub was complaining of back pain and her daughter was seen in a wheelchair at the E.R.

The Dish Rag hopes that Staub and her daughter haven't suffered any major injuries and we'll update as news becomes available.

As of the first season of the show, Staub was trying to put her life back together after a divorce. The other housewives discovered that Staub was mentioned in the book "Cop without a Badge" and that she had a quite a colorful past. Her reaction to the other housewives after they spread news of the book around town incited the notorious "prostitution whore" table flipping incident by fellow housewife Teresa Giudice.

TheSmokingGun.com reported that Staub, under the name Beverly Ann Merrill, was charged with eight felonies, including extortion, cocaine possession, and narcotics conspiracy. After making a plea deal, Staub was given five years probation and ordered to participate in a drug treatment program.

[Update 11:35 AM: Staub tweeted: "I was hit by a car while @ a light bringing my daughter to hospital for vomiting so grateful we were not hurt."]
