Mark Kerrigan's alleged domestic violence, jail time, mental problems

Former Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan's brother Mark Kerrigan, who was arrested for the assault of their father, Daniel, has pleaded not guilty.
Daniel was found unconscious on the floor of his home by officers responding to a 911 call at 1:30 a.m. Sunday. He was rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Authorities are waiting for autopsy results before they pursue further charges. But more information about Mark is already coming out.
The AP is reporting that Mark Kerrigan has a history of domestic violence. He was also sued by his parents in order to "recover money they had provided him" while he served time in jail. For what, we still don't know. He was released in 2007.
Police report that Mark appeared intoxicated when found on a couch in the basement and was "belligerent and combative" when questioned. They had to use pepper spray on him.
"He stated that he wanted to use the phone and his father would not let him," the arresting officer's report read. "He said he struggled with his father and put his hands around his father's neck and his father fell to the floor."
The officers reported blood near where Daniel's body and signs of a struggle, including three pictures knocked off a wall and a broken telephone.
Kerrigan's attorney Denise Moore told the court Monday that her client -- an Army vet -- was on medication for post-traumatic stress syndrome and was seeing a psychiatrist.
