John Edwards, Elizabeth Edwards split. What took so long?
Elizabeth Edwards and John Edwards are officially kaput. As in legally separated. And in a year, according to North Carolina law, they can get divorced.John says separation from his wife is an "extraordinarily sad moment." But it sure sounds like Elizabeth got out just in time.
Andrea Purse, a friend of Elizabeth Edwards, confirmed the separation to The Associated Press
"Elizabeth is moving on with her life and wants to put this difficult chapter behind her," a statement released by Purse said.

Difficult indeed.
Even more so when the shocking new book by Edwards aide, Andrew Young, comes out.
Young's book details how Edwards tried to hide the affair.and asked Young to find a doctor who might fake a paternity test. He also asked him to steal a diaper from the baby to determine whether it was really his. Young also claims that the married couple sought to politicize her cancer diagnosis.
Now Elizabeth won't have to answer any questions about all this. John, he's another story

i think elizabeth edwards just reached the end of her rope of patience and acceptance. she's just done and is tired of having to support a man who has proven to continuously betray her and lie to her. it was commendable of her to try to stick it out but i think after this new stuff, she's just done.
