John Edwards admits he fathered Rielle Hunter's baby
Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards has admitted that he fathered a daughter with his mistress, Rielle Hunter.
May we add, finally?
"I am Quinn's father," his statement reads. "I have been able to spend time with her during the past year and trust that future efforts to show her the love and affection she deserves can be done privately and in peace."
"I have been providing financial support for Quinn and have reached an agreement with her mother to continue providing support in the future."
The former 2008 Democratic presidential candidate previously denied that he was the girl's father.
"It was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter and hopefully one day, when she understands, she will forgive me," Edwards said.

After demeaning initial tabloid reports of his affair with Rielle Hunter, Edwards later recanted and admitted an affair with her while he was campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Then Edwards denied being Rielle's baby daddy for more than a year, saying the affair was over before she became pregnant.
Wouldn't it have looked better if he had just admitted everything from the get-go? Would you ever trust this man about anything again?
