Jennifer Lopez subs for George Lopez on his talk show. Look out, Jay Leno!

Jennifer Lopez took over for George Lopez on his talk show Monday (Jan. 18).

Wearing a slashed tailored white pantsuit and black top, (way better than her New Year's Eve catsuit) Jennifer -- not George -- shimmied (backwards) down the stage, danced with the crowd and started off her monologue with:

"Welcome to 'Lopez Tonight,'" Lopez, who may appear on an episode of our fave show, "Glee," shouted, "Where no one gets fired, they just get replaced by a bigger star with the same last name."

Jennifer still has a few things to learn though. For one, talk show hosts shouldn't laugh at their own jokes. Even if they didn't write them.

A couple of her other jokes:

"Last week was the first anniversary of Sully Sullenberger landing his plane safely in the Hudson. A bar in New York has named a cocktail after him. The drink is a Manhattan ... with a splash. The problem is a bunch of other pilots keep drinking The Sully before they take off. It's such a big hit, now the same bartender is making a drink for Conan it's called The Go-Back-To-Manhattan ... It's a Manhattan with sour grapes and a knife in it."

"NBC is thinking about changing the NBC peacock to a cougar, since they are trying to attract young people to an old host. Some women don't like the expression 'COUGAR' but it's better than what guys get, right? An older guy who dates a younger girl that's called a 'LETTERMAN'."

For his part, George Lopez responded to the interloper thusly:

"Wasn't she amazing? Orale, Jennifer Lopez!  I guess that's what it feels like to be Conan."

LOVE HER LINES

"Welcome to 'Lopez Tonight', Where no one gets fired, They just get replaced by a bigger star with the same last name."

she sucked, and so does George Lopez. Their jokes weren't even funny. Laughing at your own jokes was just annoying
