Whoopi Goldberg is as sick of Tiger Woods as we are
While it's maybe not the best idea to walk off your own show -- even in jest -- we get where Whoopi Goldberg was coming from on "The View."
The show's "Hot Topics" segment inevitably turned to Tiger Woods, and Goldberg was having none of it. Barbara Walters finally asked what was up.
"I am bored out of my gourd," Goldberg said, drawing loud applause from the audience. "... Here's my absolute honest opinion: whether they get back together or not is not going to put any food on my table."
"That's true of every subject we discuss today." Walters replied. "We might as well go home."
Which Goldberg then proceeded to do ... sort of. She faked a walkout, over Walters' protestations, before returning.
We know you feel, Whoopi. What do you think of her walkoff?

It was totally in jest. This is really needed to be posted on? Barbara and Whoopi always have that sort of banter. I've noticed more and more though that Whoopi seems to be getting very annoyed by Barbara as of late.
What do I think? I think this website needs to do a better job of proof reading their articles.
I agree with Whoopi. I'm already sick of hearing about Tiger Woods. He's a douche. We get it. Move on.
it's absolutely asinine to say 'did he ask to be a role model?' IF he's a spokesperson or is asked by a corporation to endorse a product, he has a moral and fiduciary responsibility as an agent of that company to not be guilty of acts of moral turpitude--otherwise you become an embarrassment and a liability.. it's not illegal to commit adultery... absurd, it should be!! when everything became objective rather than subjective our nation's morality has plummeted and what is our standard? that seems to be a big issue these days, no one is responsible for their actions and the public is getting tired of it. and don't think for one moment you won't be held to a higher standard and scrutinized under a microscope--it comes with being a celebrity or a position in the spotlight, right, wrong or otherwise, it is what it is. if you're doing something you don't want splashed on the evening news, maybe you shouldn't be doing it.
Okay rochelle, remember your words the next time you are sitting in the loo taking a sh!t or taking a shower.
Have you seen her sexy photos on====onenightcupid.com====where you can find lots of sexy girl to go with you for onenightcupid.BE FREE? She is really hot with Bikini. And I wonder who is the man besides her. They look very happy and lovely.,you can have a try.
I love Whoopi's public persona and within the industry she's made alot of friends by her character and honesty.
As a host of the View she's done an outstanding job but even SHE isn't perfect or objective.
Putting the whole 'role model' issue aside, Tiger's problems would've been completely private if he had his spat with his wife WITHIN the closed doors of his million dollar mansion. The minute it spilled out to the front lawn, in clear view of his neighbors, he started a spark that became a fire of curiosity.
To not comment on it and how it has grown a life of its own, is to go contrary to what the show and its "Hot Topics" segment is about and what she gets paid to do.
My feeling (again this is what I percieve - no, evidence) is that she was more bothered (than bored) by the conversation because it was like how you or I would feel if people were sniping about a close, personal friend.
Whoopi seems to come off as a celebrity defender. She seems to have favorites she doesn't want to bash, but will rip on less famous people.
What's up with Whoopi? She tends to defend all of these celebrities involved in scandals. She stood behind Letterman, Batman (forgot his name) and even Roman Polanski to name a few. I don't get it. If it had been some of the other women doing the same I would have been more amused.
One more thing. That's his business what he does (Tiger) in his private life but if stuff is out there then get ready for media frenzy. You're on.
I've noticed Whoopi's growing annoyance at Barbara as well. My guess is that there is a bit of a power struggle here - Whoopi was hired to moderate the show, but Barbara leaves no doubt as to who runs the show when she is part of the panel. She talks over the others, chastises them for interrupting her, and always has a lengthy speech on any topic. Barbara's ego comes through loud and clear - her opinion matters the most, and viewers are going to hear what she has to say, no matter what.
